HYDRAULIC & PNEUMATIC SEALS
Hydraulic seals are designed for high-pressure dynamic applications such as hydraulic cylinders. Pneumatic seals are used in pneumatic cylinders and valves and generally are designed for lower operating pressures than hydraulic seals.
PISTON & ROD SEALS
Piston Seals or Piston Rings are used in hydraulic cylinders for fluid sealing. They are internal to the cylinder head and seal against the cylinder bore, preventing fluid from flowing across the cylinder head. This allows pressure build up on one side of the piston, making the cylinder extend or retract. Rod seals are used in hydraulic cylinders for fluid sealing. They are external to the cylinder head and seal against the cylinder's rod, preventing leakage of fluid from within the cylinder to the outside.
CARBON SEALS
What are carbon seals used for? They can be used for applications where improved tribological properties, or resistance to chemical attack or temperature cycling is required. The majority of seal carbons are then impregnated to improve their properties.
RUBBER SEALS/GASKETS
gaskets serve as a static seal between flat surfaces, such as joints, while seals are used in more dynamic environments between active components such as rotating shafts, pumps, and engines.
FELTS/OIL SEALS/V SEALS
Oil seals are used to protect shafts and bearings from ingress of dirt and foreign matter and egress of oil or grease. An oil seal generally consists of an outer circular metal part and an inner flexible member that does the actual sealing and is bonded to the metal part by chemical adhesive agents.

What is O-ring cord stock? Cord stock is O-Ring material, ready to be cut to create custom size O-Rings. There is a large selection of cross-sections available, and can be cut to any length you need or in standard put up lengths.
ENCAPSULATED O'RINGS/GASKETS

Sometimes you need the chemical and temperature resistance of PTFE, but a PTFE O-ring wouldn't have the flexibility you need for compressive fluid sealing.
